For many years I have been able to use the power of my imagination to manifest the things I want. Lately, I have been choosing and over again to BE the kind of human being I want to be. So, as soon as I catch myself reacting less than lovingly to people or situations, I quickly change my reaction to a more compassionate one. I have learned that how we feel and think is in the end a matter of choice. However, it takes persistent practice to replace our automatic, indiscriminate responses with willful, positive responses. I am now in my 40[s. I.have an undergraduate degree in philosophy, spent years reading self help books and business books. I am a student of Catherine Ponder, studied the art of war, the master key, ...I could on. But this is what is important...no other writer has ever explained to me with such a child like simplicity how to connect to my inner spirit and a higher spirit. While it does have many Christian biblical implications, the book does not push religion. I now experience actual manifestations. I now get how to get what I want out of life. I understand that both happiness and success are possible at the same time. I never asked for it to be easy just possible. Neville Goddard's the Power of Awareness, taps into something that can only be experienced. This book offers a step by step process. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Wanderer88 -- Simply outstanding! : Truly profound! This is the second book I have read from Neville Goddard. It is amazing how impact-full and yet short his books are. I will treasure this book for a long time. The power of Awareness highlighted points that I was already familiar with and yet brought them to light in such a way that opened me up to a new level of awareness in the innate power that resides with in us all. You can finish this book in just a few short hours and as such an easy read I recommend it to anyone seeking inspration and to understand how they can manifest their desires. Two thumbs up. • 3.0 out of 5 stars from GMB -- Interesting and worth a read but beware of being misled. : Interesting, short book with the key message being thoughts/consciousness creates reality. When you think about it, common sense tells us we can only achieve what we are consciously perusing and we only pursue what we think about. Nothing comes into being without the thought of it first. My only fear is that people take the message in this book to the extreme and see it as some kind of magic (law of attraction ) i.e. that visualising some how makes things come by magic which is just wishful thinking. I agree we have to be aware of what we think and be mindful of what we really want, otherwise we are living our life with no set plan, goals or direction. Without sound goals how can we have any direction or plan for achieving what we want. Visualisation of what we desire is aimed at getting us into a good feeling place about what we desire. The good feelings created by visualising our dreams releases Dopamine which is one of the neurochemicals which affects motivation, which in turn gets us into action mode which affects our goal oriented behaviour. I believe that by continually focusing our awareness on our goals and visualising and dreaming about them keeps the motivation juices flowing which will hopefully lead to action and achievement....but NOT by magic which this book implies. This is the perfect, easy to use handbook on how to manifest anything. If that makes it sound too simple, Goddard does explain in great detail how the process works as well as the difference between imagining and getting the feeling of your wish fulfilled compared to merely daydreaming about what you want to happen. Anyone that comes to understand these teachings will make serious breakthroughs in their life, it's just that simple. Neville goddard clearly came to really understand the meaning of the bible scriptures, and translated this knowledge into his teachings perfectly. What a revelation it is to discover, for the first time in your life, that we create our reality, our circumstances from within ourselves, and things don't just happen to us randomly. Basically this law of nature means that every single human being has the ability to change his or her circumstances effortlessly from 'inside out', and create the life of their dreams. I cannot emphasize enough just how critical it is that everybody comes to understand this, it's just life transforming!! I feel many people are still under the illusion that the bible is just some historical story book, huge mistake, what it is, is a book of immense power, an instruction manual for life if you will. And I guarantee that anybody that comes to understand it as translated so clearly in this and other neville goddard books, will experience a transformation in every area of their life!! But as title says itself this is something we desperately needing in current societies. Someone can say its almost another biblical study. But hey if that is the knowledge we are lacking why not acknowledge it and get a grip on? As NG highlights we all are "Creators" and knowing our potentials could take us to a another level which could benefit everyone around us. Great read. Potentially an ideal School text book.
